Earlier this month Apple was ordered by a court to put a note on its UK website and purchase advertisement space in UK newspapers stating that Samsung didn’t copy Apple’s iPad design. The original hearing made by Judge Colin Birss had ruled that Apple must put up the notices for six months in the UK explaining that Samsung did not infringe upon Apple’s design relating to the iPad.
The courts have however issued Apple with a stay of apology stating that Apple don’t have to publish these statements straight away, allowing Apple to appeal the hearing which will be in October this year.
Why would Apple want to appeal this? Apple publicly stated that they didn’t want to advertise a rival product on their website or in the paper, which is wholly understandable.
Yet another milestone in the ongoing patent war between Apple & Samsung.
